Carl is good where it counts and weak where it doesn't. This is exactly what you want from your fantasy team. He's got three starting RBs that are likely to be workhorses for their teams (Henry/Robinson/Edwards), one of the few elite TE options in Waller, and he's got a roster full of receivers that shouldn't have any problems putting up consistent points. The QB situation here is interesting. Burrow is coming off an injury, and his receivers have had a shakeup, getting rid of Green and bringing in Chase in the draft. They have struggled a bit in the preseason, but either they'll fix those issues, or Carl can pivot to another QB without much issue. He is set up with a balance, high-upside squad to start the year.

The top end of Andrew's roster stacks up as well as Carl's, but there are a couple of factors he'll need to fight through to keep the team performing. First, a healthy CMAC is the best player in fantasy and is worth an easy 10+ advantage on everyone else each week. That is huge. Then to follow him up with two other starters in Davis and Gibson is also great to build the RB corp. I also think Mike Evans and Adam Thielen will be their consistent selves, and Justin Herbert should have no problems putting up points. However, this team does have some question marks that add to the risk. First, spending a third-round pick on Kyle Pitts could either win this league or make this team average before the season even starts. We just don't know yet. Second, while Mike Davis is a starter, we have never seen him in a starting role. He'll have the opportunity to show off, which is huge in fantasy, but he still has to perform. But I think the biggest potential issue for this team is Michael Thomas. He is an awesome player, but Drew has to carry a dead roster spot for at least six weeks. This could make bench management very tricky.

In this draft, I think there are 3 or 4 tiers. Carl and Andrew are on top, and then Mark starts tier 2 in my mind. As an FYI, I am building the Dobbins injury into consideration here. With him on the team, this roster would have been ranked at least one spot higher. But even with that injury, this roster is still crazy good. The RB core did thin out with Dobbins missing the year, but Travis just rode Dalvin Cook to two championships, and Nick Chubb is a top 5 RB in fantasy. The roster also includes one of those few elite TEs, and if Dak plays even 90% as well as he did to start last season, this team could put up a great season. The WR group & bench do fall off a little fast for my liking, but Mark should be able to find two startable receivers each week from his options, and I also think we'll see more James Conner playtime than most expect. Solid team overall.

Glizzy Guzzlers | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

My team is sitting in a fairly similar situation to Mark's. Both teams had two great RB keepers and are dealing with injuries. Hopefully, Ekeler won't be out long, but those hamstring injuries tend to linger. Otherwise, I think my RB squad can match up with anyone in the league. Most rankings had Kamara, Jones, and Ekeler in the top 10-12 range, so there is no shortage of upside. However, my receivers are definitely a step down (unless CeeDee does break out this season), and I have a bad feeling that I'll be pretty much streaming TEs all season, unfortunately. If I can avoid more injuries and get at least decent play out of Tannehill this year, though, streaming one position isn't the worst possible outcome to start the year. Happy with my post-draft team for sure.

All Gaskin No Breaks | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Week Zero Points: 0​

In my mind, this team has four top-tier, sure-fire stars. Those being Taylor, Brown, Diggs, and JJ. How successful the team will be as a whole will depend on what you think of the other starters. Gaskin, who didn't finish as a top 25 RB last year. Edmonds, who wasn't even the RB1 on this team last year and has never had 100 rush attempts in a season. Noah Fant, who has never finished as a top 12 TE. Brady, who will be playing his age 44 this season. These are all players who have great opportunities this year and could be huge, but they carry many risks, in my opinion. I do like Scottie's approach to the back end of his draft a lot. He went with young, high-upside players. Waddle, Stevenson, and Callaway could all work into starting roles on their teams. All looked great in the preseason too. Callaway's two TDs from Jameis were maybe the best catches of the entire preseason.

Jordan '96 '97 | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Just like I thought my team and Mark's had similarities, I also think Travis and Scottie's teams do too. Just like Scooter's team, Travis' squad is locked into some very high upside and then starts filling out with questions. Barkley, Ridley, Cooper, and Allen are all going to contribute in a huge way, I think. But after those guys, we get into more questions again. I think Swift showed flashes of talent last year for the Lions, but can a Lions RB actually be a top-end fantasy RB? Javontae Williams was one of the best college RBs in the country last year, but can he beat out Gordon for touches? Same thing for Sermon in San Fran. Ultimately this team is looking pretty mediocre to me, and I had to put them behind Scottie's roster because the bench doesn't look like it has quite as much upside, and we don't know for sure if Barkley will be able to stay healthy. If he is, this team could jump into a top 5 spot easily, but until we see him play a few games it's still hard to be sure about him.

Zeke Squad | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

When I look at John's team, I keep asking myself the same type of question: "This guy is good...right?". Josh Jacobs is still going to own that backfield in LV, right? Dionte Johnson is going to lead the Steeler's WR group in targets, right? Will Fuller is going to stay healthy, right? Zeke is going to bounce back after a down year; it was only because Dak was out, right? I think the answer to all of those is actually 'Yes.' And I think at the very least Mahomes will be good enough to keep this team a threat most weeks. Not to mention the new contract that Baltimore just gave Mark Andrews means they are committing to keeping him fed. This team has plenty of upside with those top picks, but I still find myself looking at the roster and needing to convince myself everything will be fine. And I think it will be just fine, right?

Moore Cowbell | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

This team gave me almost the opposite problem that I had when evaluating John's roster. When I look at the names, I almost expect this team to be better, but when I start picking at it a little bit, things look much shakier. A couple of guys in here will be great for sure. Kelce. McLaurin. Stafford. All-time goats, for sure. But then I look at DJ Moore, who is talented, but he now has to catch passes from The Darnold. Ja'Marr Chase is talented, but literally today, he's publishing headlines on why he's having a hard time seeing the football - and he hasn't actually played the sport in like two years. Michael Carter was great in college, but he plays for the Jets and isn't even listed as their starter. Curtis Samuel is still dealing with preseason injuries. The list goes on and on. I think those top dudes I mentioned, plus David Montgomery will keep this team from being bad, but my confidence in them being good is pretty shook.

Runnin Gunnin Nunnin | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Maybe I'm just a full-on chalk boy, but if you cut my rankings into thirds, you'll notice that 1-4 had the first four draft slots, 5-8 had the same draft slots, and 9-12 have the last third. Caleb has a squad here that doesn't look like you'd say, "Oh, they'd come in the bottom third of the power rankings," when you glance at it, but I'm not convinced this is a playoff team when I dig deeper. Najee is a good piece, but he's a rookie RB, and we don't know how Pittsburgh will use him quite yet. Allen Robinson is a beast, but he's going to start the year with Andy Dalton throwing him the ball. And these are the star players. There is still upside here to keep the team inside the top 10. Godwin is good, but that Tampa offense might have too many mouths to feed. He did finish as the WR2 a couple of years back, but that was also his only time to finish inside the top 25 at WR. Boyd, Lindsey, Green? There are just many names that I don't expect to see on the list of "most commonly players on championship teams" that we'll see in December.

Chris' team starts off the remaining tier of rosters, which lacks both the high upside and depth of fantasy RBs needed to compete for a championship. While I think DK, Bobby Trees, and Russ will be great, the rest of the lineup looks average to below-average to me. I'm not ready to write off CEH yet, but he's definitely worse than he should be, given the offense he plays for. Myles Sanders struggled to finish as a startable RB last season, and he's the RB2 on this team. Things only get uglier from there. Fournette, Drake, and Williams are all backups on their teams. Chark did not look amazing last year and now has a rookie throwing to him. AB is well past his prime. TE is nothing to brag about. Just those few solid guys at the top, then this roster drops off quickly. Gonna take some fancy moves to get this team competing.

In last year's ranking, I put Logan as the #11 team. He took offense to this and changed his team name to "These rankings are trash" before finishing as the #10 team in the league. Unfortunately, I am not expecting a huge leap this year. I do expect Nuk to keep this team somewhat steady with his typical 100+ targets this year, but other than that, it all just looks sus to me. Mixon is amazing when he plays, but at best, he's the Julio of the RB room - very boom or bust on a weekly basis. At worst, he's just injured all the time. Or at least injured enough that it makes managing him a weekly stressor of "should I start banged up Mixon or some other bench guy?" I will also say if Kyler can replicate what he did last year, it will go a very long way to helping Logs climb the rankings.

Another year, another Trond last-place ranking. While I usually try to separate the roster from the owner, in Trond's case, it's just too much to ignore. This roster is not horrible. It's a good, auto-drafted team with some nice pieces. If anything, the fact that this is the bottom-ranked team shows me how much more competitive our league is getting every year. Given the right circumstances, I wouldn't be shocked if Trond took a game off Carl this season with this roster. It might be the best group of WRs I can remember on a single roster in league history. But two things will mess this roster beyond hope. 1). It has nothing literally in the way of RBs. Time has shown RBs are required to win championships. Until the NFL changes or fantasy scoring is updated, this will continue to be the rule. This is nearly impossible to overcome. 2). Trond is the owner of the team. Not sure I need to expand much beyond that.

Thanks to K-Man’s beautiful spreadsheet, we can now look at simulated records for the league this year and see that Travis would still have a top team under almost any schedule. Not only is he putting up consistently high scores, having his worst week of the season still at a respectable 90, but he’s also got a bunch of the high potential players on his roster. Losing Miles Sanders to injury for a few weeks isn’t great. But Josh Allen locks down a roster with newly broken out players: Kenyan Drake, D’Andre Swift, Travis Fulgham, and Christian Kirk. This team looks like they’ll just keep winning.

It appears that Andy Dalton is only able to throw the ball to tight ants and running backs.

Mark just put up an absolute turd of a game, but it was his first game below 98 points all year. He’s scored 120+ in half the weeks this season. Because of that, and the fact that he’s still tied for 1st place, he gets to stay near the top of the rankings. But things are trending down pretty hard for him. Cam and Zeke both look like they’re getting worse, CeeDee loses Dak at QB, Thielen is being overshadowed by Justin Jefferson more and more, and Chubb still has probably another month on IR. The team isn’t bad by any means, but he may need to ride out a few down weeks until these players find their groove again.

Andrew gets the #3 spot this week, mainly based on his consistency. He’s averaging 100 points per week with a standard deviation of less than 10. We all knew his receivers were going to be good this year, and we all laughed at him for having a horrible running back tandem after the draft. Somehow, on a team with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Tom Brady, Gronk, and Leonard Fournette, and after being total ass for two seasons, RoJo has now put up three straight 100 yard games. I don’t know how it's happening, but Drew is getting all those benefits.

I have to give Caleb’s team credit. He’s third place in PF and simulated league record. And he’s only one game back from first place in the standings. However, his team’s score has gone down literally every week of the season from 127 in their season debut. He’s bottoming out this week with a sub-60 performance. He’s bound to bounce back, but he’s trending the wrong way.

My team is proving to be solidly middle class—a true Hamburger Helper of a team. Not going to blow you away, but does enough so that you don’t starve. I was incredibly lucky to beat Mark this week, but sub-80 point performances won’t cut it often. We can’t all have John's level of luck. I think my team has performed admirably when you consider that two of my top three draft picks have had severe injuries. I’m hoping Adams can bounce back this week against the shit-tier Texans defense, but recent news on Ekeler makes it sound like it could be a while before he sees a field again. I’m just hoping to hang around long enough to slip into the postseason.

This bi-polar ass team is somehow now tied for first place. The team is below average in terms of points scored, but Carl's players seem to team up and explode simultaneously, so the weeks he hits are almost guaranteed wins. Coming off a solid 126-point game, this team will be challenging to play and manage for the rest of the season.

This team has disappointed me a bit this year. There was a rough stretch of games after a strong start, but this week saw Matt make a strong push back with a 100-point performance. I also like the move of picking up Derrick Henry, even though we all just watched the players traded away go off this week. I know it's tough to watch "your guys" play that well right after a trade, but I still think Henry can bring weekly stability and a high floor to this roster.

Manhattan (KS) Miracles | 3-3W/L | 606PF​

I am a poor, poor fantasy manager.

If we want to talk about tremendous scoring variations, Chris’s team has a larger standard deviation than Carl’s. After going for 155 just two weeks ago, virtually the same roster put up a 66-point dud. I think this is just going to be the reality for a while when you hold players like Will Fuller, who is always up and down, Amari Cooper, who just lost his QB, and Kareem Hunt, who will probably lose value in a few weeks if Chubb comes back. I think we’re all forgetting about the absolute bomb that’s waiting on this bench, though. C-Mac already has rumors of a potential week eight return, so while this team is only average right now, they could quickly shoot back up the standings in the back half of the season.

Scottie out here completing four-vert Hail Marys, trading away his best player. It was a big gamble to ship out D-Hennessey when he's the team's strongest player. But the reality was that his roster wasn't winning, and he had to make a move. Even after seeing an immediate ROI on this move, I'm not calling any guarantees on Justin Jefferson scoring 30 a game for the rest of the year or CEH going for 160 again. Still, the team is trending up and could jump a few spots very quickly.

The Mixon Administration | 3-3W/L | 551PF​

John's team just hasn't been very good. He is very lucky to even be tied for second place (along with literally half of the league). It's taken some lucky matchups to even get to this point for him, but I don't think it'll get much easier. Right whenever Kenny G is coming back, Mixon is starting to deal with injuries. Right when Julio has a breakout game, OBJ throws up another turd burger. Somehow John is both lucky and unlucky at the same time. Just don't trade with him, and hopefully, Russ won't set the NFL touchdown passing record this year.

After a run of peepeepoopoo games and maybe a little bad luck, Logz is now 1-5 and at the bottom of the rankings. That said, he has posted a couple of average scores the last two weeks at 105 and 89 points, respectively. These scores won’t be enough to move the needle on his season, but putting those up consistently probably does enough to get him out of the basement and maybe ruin weeks for a few people along the way. I’d advise joining me as a full-time fantasy Bachelorette analyst for the next couple of months.

Losing Dak hurts Mark's team, especially since his team is Cowboys lite. But, with Dallas's D/ST being awful, the offense will have to score to keep up, and he still has their number one weapon. Pair that with Mark getting Dak's replacement in the form of a scrub 2015 MVP, quality receivers, and a strong bench. Mark is number one until he isn't.

It may not be the sexiest team, but it gets the job done. Despite almost being overtaken by Elite Ryan Tannehill, my team pulled through with a win. My team may not put up eye-popping numbers, but my floor is low. With Mostert coming back in and Bell having the potential to be anywhere but the Jets, I think my team could continue to be sneaky good. If I can get past Trond on Kamara's bye week, I should be sitting pretty. I'm still the Sacko, and there is still a video to be owed, so I pray that karma doesn't bring down Kamara.

Cook going down was scary, but it doesn't look like he will be out long. Mattison has put up good numbers in the past with Cook out, and it hasn't affected his workload upon return, so I don't expect it to this time either. Travis has a strong RB corp plus Lockett and Parker. While not outstanding, they have been consistent, which is weird for both of them. A couple of classic Lockett breakouts matched that with MVP frontrunner Josh Allen making a strong comeback from a weak week, and I think Tarv could do the repeat.

Andrew has a scary set of WRs, but outside of that, I don't see much positive about this team, especially once McCaffrey gets healthy and sends Davis back to the Shadow Realm. This team won't get far without a quality starting running back, even if you do put up the high score once in a while.

Chris had a poor showing this week, but this team is not far off from being fully healthy and the scariest team in the league again. He has three high-quality running backs and Mahomes. Even with Cooper looking not too hot, especially now that Dak is out, this team will be tough for anyone to beat. I don't have him higher because his bench strength is hurting, as you saw this week. Maybe you should talk to Carlough about upgrading a wide receiver. Just don't trade with John.

It was a good turnout this week, no doubt, and that was with Adams and Jones on bye weeks. You're playing from a tough spot right now. I want to rank you higher just because your Freeman bet paid off, and Ekeler will be back soon. However, your bench is as strong as they are in the weight room, and your receivers leave much to be desired. Even with Devante back, a touchdown from him means Aaron Jones doesn't get one.

This team has so much potential, but K-Man's choice to pick fifth instead of fourth continues to haunt him. CEH hasn't looked all that special, and it's rumored the Chiefs might even bring in Bell. Wouldn't that be hilarious? Ridley has been a pleasant surprise, and Carson has been consistent, but until the team can put it all together, it's going to be hard to win consistently. Tannehill is not going to put up 30 every week. Did I mention Kamara is the number one running back?

I feel like this is where teams start to fall off a cliff. Everyone above this spot wouldn't surprise me if they took home the trophy. The Joe Burrow experiment was fun, I'm sure. Instead of trading me for Herbert, you decide that Goff is going to bring you the championship. How's that logic working out for the Rams? Outside of Henry and Diggs, there is not much on this team to get excited about.

Poor Logan. Even when he does well, he loses. Honestly, I think this team is better than its record, and I would probably bet on Logan to win against any of the above three teams on any given week. But with Green and JuJu disappointing this season and Lindsay out, it has been challenging to fill flex spots with any talent. 0-5 is a tough spot to come back from and deserves nothing more than last in the power rankings. That said, I don't think the Sacko is in Logan's future this year.

Clearly, the football gods have accepted the Arkansas State sacrifice because everything is going Crams's way now.

With Nick Chubb out for a while, his running back situation went from great to a bit suspect. JK Dobbins has been fading away like he got Thanos snapped. For that reason, I think his team will trend down. Make no mistake; I'm not counting this team out.

Caleb's team is officially good. After four weeks, I'll freely admit that I was very wrong about the reigning Sacko's roster. He'd probably also be 4-0 if he wasn't number two in points against. The Le'Veon Bell pickup could be huge if he ends up performing anywhere close to his previous self.

Tarv's points against looks like he played the SEC's FCS-heavy out of conference schedule. Kenyan Drake's points are receding into nothing like my hairline. He's (#33) only two spots ahead of Mark Ingram (#35) right now. Josh Allen and Dalvin Cook are carrying this team. Tyler Lockett has been a home run hitter. If any of them has a bad week, there's not much else on this team that excites me. It looks like this team might be falling back down to earth. It definitely wouldn't be the first Aggie collapse in the month of October against actual competition.

This game officially settles that my girlfriend is way hotter than his.

Has anyone started Matthew Stafford and won that week? I'm too lazy to look, but what I'm saying is that he's a lousy quarterback. Despite an okay performance from him and a three-touchdown game from a Waiver Wire God-esque pickup, his team was garbage this week. Travis Kelce put up average tight end numbers, and Callen's RB2 is heading to IR. I trust Callen to work some magic, but I see this team trending down while Austin Ekeler is out unless Devonta Freeman turns out to be a startable RB2.

Calvin Ridley is a fantastic metaphor for this team. K-Man entered week four with high expectations only to disappear like Michigan when they face a ranked opponent. The only difference is that this team pulled out a miracle win, unlike Harbaugh against Ohio State. This team has been consistently playing worse and worse. K-Man's points for and points against looks like a typical B1G game where the final score is 9-6. I don't know how both of these values are so low. This team doesn't deserve to be 3-1, and certainly didn't deserve to win this week. All this said, I think K-Man's team will trend up, and he'll capitalize on starting with a generous record.

I think this team has depth, but replacing the first overall pick will be a challenge. If Jerrick McKinnon can be a quality stopgap and Kareem Hunt keeps trending up, I think Crams will shoot right back up to the top. There's still an insane amount of talent on this team, but I still think the margins are so thin between the top teams.

Three of the four wide receivers he played this week had touchdowns. Saquon tearing his ACL was the MVP of this team too. I don't understand how John gets so lucky in fantasy football. I want to say that it's not sustainable, but we all know he's going to get into the playoffs with this doo doo team somehow.

Everyone on this roster underperformed except Josh Jacobs. Logz direly needs some rushing touchdowns from his quarterback and Todd Gurley, Juju Smith-Schuster, and AJ Green to form a strong core.

My team is officially terrible. For the second week, I leave a 20-piece on the bench, which makes me want to rank my team higher (and gives me the faintest glimmer of hope). At this point, my first-round, second-round, and third-round picks could all be considered busts. I don't have a reliable WR2, and my star tight end is injured. I'm already streaming QBs and will probably begin streaming D/STs as well with the terrible performance by the Saints against a mediocre offense.

Manhattan (KS) Miracles | 1-0W/L | 99PF​

Chris’s team is just going to be this good all year. Barring an injury to Mahomes or CMC, this team is practically a playoff lock. Even if that did happen, we just saw Amari Cooper get 14 targets. While Chark wasn’t as involved in the Jags week one win, Minshew looked terrific. To top all that off, Kareem Hunt had 17 touches for the Browns, about as much as you can ask for out of a flex player. Not only is the team top-heavy, but they are middle-heavy too. Nowhere to go but down from here.

I get to play my #1 and #2 ranked teams in back-to-back weeks to open the season in classic Callen luck. K-Man also has a fantastic roster that is pretty well complete top to bottom. CEH is a potential league winner if he can get in the endzone on the goal-line, and David Montgomery looks like he’ll only miss one week of action. The only knock I can find right now is Calvin Ridley showing up in concussion protocol days after the Falcons played. Kind of worrying, but I hope he’s okay.

Mark still has a very solid team, but I see some cracks forming. Dak will be good, Zeke and Chubb will be good, and I think CeeDee will be a solid flex all year. I initially ranked him high because of the target shares I thought would be coming back to Thielen and Kupp. The Vikings barely threw the ball last week, and Kupp only had five targets. I’m not overreacting to the first week of the season, but its something to keep an eye on. JK Dobbins also only had seven carries for 22 yards, which isn’t great considering how amazing the rushing attack is in Baltimore. It’s only his first professional game. He could still emerge as a super valuable player.

I have to give credit to a team that hits the top score in week one. But I still think this team outperformed its talent this week. Kamara had 16 yards on 12 carries but was saved by two TDs. Raheem Mostert also averaged under four yards per carry but was saved by a 76-yard reception and a TD. This week there were rumors of Allen Robinson potentially demanding a trade from Chicago. I have to give credit where its due. Not a bad team by any means, but not stable enough yet to be ranked at the top.

The team had a solid outing this week. Josh Jacobs was the #1 fantasy player of the week. Gurley had a good first half in Atlanta but cooled off in the second. JuJu scored a couple of tuddies in Pittsburgh’s opener. Lots of touchdowns scoring helped prop up the team this week. I am interested to see if it can sustain throughout the season. You also got my #1 waiver pickup this week in Benny Snell. If Conner is out for a long time, he could be crazy valuable. We’ll see if the hefty waiver claim pays off.

Travis hit the 100 point mark this week, so I’m just ranking him at #7 because Caleb and Logan outscored him. The team is still solid. Cook got in the endzone. Kenyan Drake looks like he’ll still get volume even with the increased focus on Nuk in Arizona. Now Miles Sanders is coming back for the Eagles. I initially thought this team could jump to elite status if Lockett and Parker started getting the ball. Lockett did have eight catches for nearly 100 yards but didn’t find the endzone in week one. Parker only had four targets total, and Fitzmagic looked not great. Still, there’s a lot to be excited about for this team.

Glizzy Guzzlers | 0-1W/L | 91PF​

I wish there were more things to say about my team, but its pretty boring so far. Davante Adams should keep me competitive, but unless Aaron Jones and Ekeler come back into form, this team will be mediocre all year. Cam Akers didn’t look great in week one, but I’m still holding out hope. I need someone to have a reason to sign Davonta Freeman already to give me another RB option.

Derrick Henry’s big ass touched the football 34 times in week one. What the hell is that about? Outside of that, I wasn’t super impressed by anyone. Mark Ingram had pedestrian numbers. Diggs did total nearly 100 yards, so maybe that’s something. Juice looks like he’s in for a rough year if Baker keeps playing so poorly. I’d say you could also hang your hat on Kittle, but he’s missed practice all week due to a knee injury. Things are looking shaky, but still plenty of potential.

John gets to jump Carl this week due to many injury concerns, but his team is still not in great shape either. The Julio/Mixon/Rus trio will keep him out of the basement, but otherwise, there’s not a lot to love here. Golladay is going to miss his second straight week, and Marlon Mack is done for the year. OBJ is still a mids player while Baker sucks, and DJ Moore did not look good in week one. There’s still a long way to go for this team.

Woo boy. Talk about ups and downs. I’m even less sure about what Carl’s team is this week than in the first power rankings. Lamar Jackson is a potential MVP candidate again based on week one performance. He looked even better than in 2019. Carl also picked up two rookies starting RBs that he got at discount prices: Taylor and Robinson. But damn, he got hurt badly in other places. James Conner is still fragile and uncertain. AJ Brown did not get anywhere near the play that everyone thought he would, and he’s now injured. Michael Thomas also got a whole three catches this year, and now he’s going to miss several weeks with an ankle injury. I hate to see teams eliminated from the playoffs this early in the season, but between Lamar/Taylor/Robinson/Allen, you should be able to ruin some seasons along the way.

Outside of that RB2 spot, there’s not a lot of outstanding needs. I still don’t trust Trond enough yet.

Cramsey cashed in all his football karma to beat me in both this league and the golf league. Unfortunately, because of this, K-State got torched by Arkansas State. Chris's team underperformed and still got a hundo points. Patrick Mahomes had a down game of 20 points. With Kareem Hunt and Melvin Gordon trending up, this team absolutely terrifies me.

I think [Clyde Edwards-Helaire] is the most likely number two fantasy running back behind McCaffrey.

K-Man is gunning for the championship right now. After getting robbed of Alvin Kamara in the draft, he has to settle for Clyde Edwards-Helaire. This rookie looked right at home in the Chiefs' offense. I stand by my initial assessment of him. Chris Carson looked fantastic as well. If these two can stay healthy, I could see K-Man ending his playoff drought very soon.

David Johnson showed flashes of his old self. I wonder if he'd trade this win for a Broncos win.

Andrew's team overperformed this week without a doubt. He's going to be salty about this, but I'm wary of teams who win based on a few dominant performances. Mark Andrews and Robbie Anderson aren't the core of a good team. Ronald Jones runs the risk of losing more carries to Leonard Fournette. Devin Singletary doesn't inspire confidence either.

Davante Adams will be the best fantasy WR, but the rest of his team seems well-rounded at best right now. I was a Darius Slayton truther last year, but Callen left a quality game on the bench. There's a lot of potential here, but Callen desperately needs Austin Ekeler to go off to have a legitimate shot at the 'ship.

My fantasy luck this week has been absolutely hilarious. Didn't realize Phillip Lindsay is done for the night. That's the final nail in my coffin.

As Sleeper already pointed out, I'm the worst manager in the league. I left a 30-piece sitting on the bench. I still see a lot of production on the team going forward, but it isn't who I initially planned for. It's almost certainly not enough to win me the championship either. This week, I was also incredibly unlucky with Henry Ruggs III and George Kittle playing through injury, Derrick Henry missing on two goal-line touchdowns, and Mark Ingram offering a lousy two points. Consider me humbled.

A lesson I think I’ve learned about fantasy in the last couple of years is that leagues are won on upside. Depth is nice, but if you don’t have elite players, you will not win. You need a top 5 player at nearly every spot to compete for a ‘ship. I think Mark has the best 1-2 punch at RB in the league with Zeke and Chubb. Then he’s got a couple of target hogs in Thielen and Kupp at WR. Then he’s got Dak at QB, who finished as QB2 last year. His only potential weak spot is at TE, but Hurst is taking over the spot that produced at a high-level last year for the Falcons. Overall this team is crazy solid and even has a couple of high-value lotto tickets in CeeDee and Dobbins. I just like the lineup from top to bottom.

Manhattan (KS) Miracles | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Chris could very well end up with the top 2 most valuable fantasy players in 2020. Without much exaggeration, he could end up with a playoff team if Mahomes and CMC perform to their expectations, and everyone else plays averagely. But he’s also swinging Chark and Cooper at WR, who will both be fantastic as well. Like Mark, his weakest spot is at TE. Hooper had a good year in 2019, but he’ll undoubtedly lose some steam in Cleveland who hasn’t produced a great TE since Gary Barnidge.

Travis might have the best stable of RBs as a whole in the league this year. He owns three outright bellows. His TE isn’t anything special, and on the surface, his WRs are also pretty mediocre as starters. But this is where my personal bias and some potential upside come to play. I think DeVante Parker continues a lot of the success he ended last year with, and I think Lockett has top 5 WR potential, but only if the Seahawks let Rus go to work. In recent years the Seahawks have been a run-first team even though Rus is everything to that offense. If they realize that and let him loose Lockett could have a huge season.

Salty Duck Egg | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

So I am a lazy asshole and didn’t produce these rankings until after the first game of the season. That game took the biggest question mark of the first round and made it a sure thing. The Chiefs are gonna use the shit outta CEH. Matt backs that up with Chris Carson, who is great when healthy, plus another potential bellcow if Montgomery is healthy at some point. Stack on that a trio of Godwin, Ridley, and McLaurin at WR, and this team has a stupid good RB/WR roster. Tight end and QB might be a bigger question mark, but Matt is strong in the most important spots.

Court is in Sutton | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

There are a lot of similarities with Matt and Caleb, and I just liked K-Man’s set up a smidge more. Both rosters have solid cores but are fuzzier on the edges than the higher-ranked teams. We all know Kamara’s upside, and I also think BoB will force-feed the ball to DJ to save face on his dog shit trade of Nuk. I ultimately think this team will depend on a group of high upside receivers. A-Rob had a great year in 2019, and I think he’s going to anchor things. I have Hollywood Brown as my breakout WR candidate this year, along with a bunch of other Twitter experts. Sutton is not quite as sure, but Drew Lock could certainly make him a valuable asset if he can put together a solid sophomore season.

Glizzy Guzzlers | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Scottie is going to think I’m a salty dude for putting myself one spot over him, and that’s probably true, but I also have justifications. I have two RBs who finished top-7 last year to his 1. I also think I clearly have the best single receiver in Adams between our teams, and I think Kelce still has the edge over Kittle at TE. More importantly, maybe, is that I have a high upside rookie in Akers, but honestly, the dude scares me. I basically don’t know shit about him other than he was a 2nd round pick and averaged over 7 yards a carry in college. I can already tell my biggest struggle this year will be juggling three good-not-great receivers in my WR2/flex spots (Gallup/Boyd/Jones). Overall, pretty average team, but with just a little luck I could end up higher in the standings.

Bijan Mustard | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Scottie’s team may have jumped a spot or two if I did these rankings right after the draft. I am still 100% confident Henry and Kittle are gonna get theirs. But at this point, I’m less sold on the rest of the roster. The obvious big blow is Fournette leaving Jax. Even if he takes over the job in Tampa, they are still going to be so pass-heavy with Evans, Godwin, and Gronk on the team that I don’t think there’s any way you get his ADP out of him. I’m just not convinced he’s going to get the 250+ carries he was drafted for in this offense. I am also not sold on Diggs as a WR1. I don’t know the last time Buffalo produced a receiver worth starting consistently at all, let alone worth relying on as a WR1. There is some decent potential in the other receivers, so maybe Jeudy or Ruggs will step up sooner than expected.

BigOleDoinks | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Cral’s team was probably the hardest for me to rank this year, and I think that almost entirely hinged on Jonathan Taylor. His WR core is fantastic, so no worries there. Then Lamar Jackson and James Conner were two of the best keeper values in the whole league this year. But beyond that shit just falls off super fast. If Taylor doesn’t take over the Colts’ backfield you are now relying on - Kerryon and AD? Tight end options are Gesicki and Fant? Both mids players on offenses that aren’t set up to do a ton of scoring. This team is just very top-heavy without a lot of upside in the middle. If Taylor does take over and one of those tight ends pans out, I could see this being my biggest miss of these rankings.

CDC Lamb | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

By now, you may see my bias coming through of needing to see top-flight RBs present to show up high in my rankings. They are just that important to doing well in fantasy. Andrew somewhat matches Carl’s same issue in that he has Reek/Nuk/Woods for a stupid good receiving core. But depending on Singletary and RoJo at RB is asking for trouble. I think Mark Andrews will be nice again this year, and of course, Gibson in Washington’s backfield was maybe the biggest sleeper pick among analysts this offseason, and it looks like that may be happening. So yeah, not a horrible team, but fantasy is as deep at WR and shallow at RB as its ever been. This team isn’t missing a ton, but it is missing pieces at the most important position.

I guess our league is just reaching peak efficiencies because even at the #10 spot, I don’t think this team is bad by any means. But when I look at it, I just see an entire roster of guys who are going to be very average-ish. As I’ve already said, I think you need extreme upside to win in fantasy. Josh Jacobs will probably repeat what he did in 2019, and Gurley may be good, but he may also get knocked out of the season at any time. JuJu better hope Big Ben can stay healthy, cause last year he was doo doo immediately when the backup QBs came in. And Zach Ertz was top 5 at TE last year, but I felt like he never really took over games (and he was on my team). So yeah, not even a lot to bash here, just not enough upside for my liking.

The Mixon Administration | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

I’m sorry to say it, but this may have been one of John’s weakest draft in league history. I can’t believe not taking his RB2 until the 8th round won’t come back to bite him. After last year’s performances, I can’t buy into OBJ or DJ Moore yet either, which leaves a very tiny margin of error for Julio and Golladay to carry a huge load. Julio is notoriously inconsistent on a week to week basis, and Golladay is going to miss week 1. Mixon will be good, Julio will be good, Russ will be good, but more importantly, I think that if any manager in this league can turn around a less than awesome draft into a playoff team, it will be John. We may just be looking at the beginning of his greatest rebuild yet.

What can I say here? This might actually be the best draft Trond has ever had, and he didn’t pick a single player on his roster. If anyone else was managing this team, it’d probably be average to above average in the rankings based purely on talent. But I can’t in good conscious push anyone else down a single spot knowing that Trond will either neglect or mismanage his roster into a spot near the bottom of the standing like we see every year. Who knows? Maybe this draft picked up enough talent that he can just let it ride. If his players avoid injuries and he gets some good luck in the scheduling, it wouldn’t even surprise me to see this team make a playoff run this year, which is weird to see next to Trond’s name.

I think this team has the potential to dominate with the potent core of Christian McCaffrey and Patrick Mahomes. I'm so proud of Lil' Flutie for finally realizing that you should draft a running back before the late fourth round. Melvin Gordon will have an average YPC and dominate carries as a strong RB2. Amari Cooper is a quality WR1, and I dig the DJ Chark pick too. Allen Lazard was reliable in college and could be a great sleeper. The 49ers D/ST has the potential to rack up the points with how deep the defensive line is. This is the team to beat this year.

I know this is super biased, but come on. Assuming that JK Dobbins doesn't cut into Mark Ingram's production too much, this is the best running back corps in the entire league. Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette should both eat well in their respective offenses as RB1 and RB2. I'll very likely play two RBs as in the flex spot. Assuming that Damien Harris controls the backfield as planned, having another RB1-caliber player could be the difference-maker. George Kittle should finish as a top tight end. Drew Brees is reliable at quarterback. Wide receiver is the most significant question mark, but if a rookie pick like Jerry Jeudy or Henry Ruggs III pays off, I'll have a complete team.

markhambone | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

This might be the most well-rounded team with just the right amount of spicy potential. Ezekiel Elliot and Nick Chubb are a reliable one-two punch at running back. If Cooper Kupp stays healthy, the wide receiver corps can be lethal with Adam Thielen. CeeDee Lamb, AJ Dillon, and JK Dobbins are great picks with disruptive potential. I think the success of Mark's team depends on these three. A classic Mark schadenfreude draft.

BigOleDoinks | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

Carl drafted very well per usual. I think Lamar Jackson should finish as the second-best quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes. Keeping him in the sixth freed him up to pick what might be the second strongest receiver corps in the league. James Conner should continue to be the lynchpin of this team, and if Jonathan Taylor delivers, this team should be a playoff contender. My only concern with his team is the depth behind quality starters.

Glizzy Guzzlers | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

The running backs are my biggest concern with Callen's team. Austin Ekeler was a great keeper, but Cam Akers is unknown at this point. He will control the carries, but who knows how he'll perform. Aaron Jones is at risk of the AJ Dillon hype. The wide receivers look pretty reliable even though the only name that jumps off the page is Davante Adams. I'm sure Callen did all the research to pick dudes who will have an excellent point median.

K(icker) Man | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

I'm a Clyde Edwards-Helaire truther. I think he's the most likely number two fantasy running back behind McCaffrey. Chris Carson is a solid RB2, but the rest make me nervous. I think David Montgomery should be startable based on opportunity alone, but we still haven't seen the performance from him yet. K-Man has a top-notch group of receivers that will carry him far. I don't understand the Matthew Stafford pick unless he's part of a Lions fan sleeper cell.

I think Trond should just auto-draft every year. The league was kind enough to give him a very well-balanced team with just the right potential. Saquon Barkley and Le'Veon Bell form a quality running back corps. Mike Evans, DK Metcalf, and TY Hilton form a strong group of receivers. Kyler Murray and Darren Waller are high-upside players. Why did we do this again?

🏆‼️ | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

At a glance, the reigning champion's team has the highest probability for bust. Dalvin Cook is a solid rock of an RB1, but Tarv got into bed with some of the worst teams. I'm not on the Kenyan Drake hype train, but maybe the Dolphins genuinely are that bad at using talent. Miles Sanders' ADP seemed way too high for being an Eagles running back. D'Andre Swift is an unknown commodity and even worse plays for the Lions. DeVante Parker was the right choice for the draft spot, but he still plays for the Dolphins. I'm not stoked about the Josh Allen pick other than he'll probably run for some touchdowns. However, this team does have a compelling group of mid-level receivers with potential.

Court is in Sutton | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

I feel pretty lukewarm about Caleb's team. I think there's upside with decent risk. This team's success hinges on David Johnson delivering at least 70% of his previous high-level performance. Trying to guess San Francisco's backfield could lead to some significant headaches and points left on the bench. Caleb has a pretty strong group of receivers, and Drew Lock could be a quality flier pick. I expect this to be a middle of the road team.

lrich91 | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

I could be very wrong about Logan's team, but I see a lot of risks right now. Josh Jacobs should be reliable at RB1 again, but I'd be shocked to see Todd Gurley perform at his elite level of previous seasons. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Zach Ertz were great picks, but AJ Green and Brandin Cooks have significant health concerns. Deshaun Watson could be this team's lynchpin, and Logz drafted very well in the later rounds with Phillip Lindsey, Sterling Shepard, and the Ravens D/ST.

CDC Lamb | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

This is the worst draft I've ever seen from Carlos. Unless he pulls off some shady used car salesman trades to fix his running back situation, I think his ceiling is fighting for one of the last playoff spots. Devin Singletary and Ronald Jones inspire little confidence as RB1 and RB2. However, he should have the best group of wide receivers with Tyreek Hill, DeAndre Hopkins, and Robert Woods. Keep your eyes peeled for him to shop off Rob Gronkowski at an exorbitant premium. I can't think of any other reason why he would have taken two tight ends as he did.

jyarrow | 0-0W/L | 0PF​

This team has the worst running back situation by far. Keeping Joe Mixon was a great move, but John waited far too long to take another back. Marlon Mack and Zack Moss will likely take backup snaps, far from ideal as an RB2. Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr. are names that I would have been excited about in past seasons, but I'm not too high on now. Russell Wilson will probably work some magic for him per usual, but I think John drafted him too early in the sixth round. I see more potential than production on this team.

Frontend Build Status​

Overview​

The Winner Is a Tryhard is now a Docusaurus site hosted on Netlify replacing the vanilla React frontend and Lambda backend for serving dynamic content. It uses Markdown (or MDX) syntax for writing blog posts, which should streamline the writing process for everyone. By utilizing the pull request system on GitHub, the publishing process will also be self-service thanks to the Netlify CI/CD tooling. This documentation will cover:

• Creating and configuring your GitHub account and keys
• Setting up your local development environment
• Cloning the project to your local machine
• Creating a new post
• Writing the post using Markdown
• Submitting a pull request

Creating and Configuring Your GitHub Account​

If you don't have an account already, join here. After that, submit a request to join The Winner Is a Tryhard on GitHub. Once you have been added, you will have permission to modify existing Git repositories and create new ones.

Setting Up Your Development Environment​

Make sure you have the following software installed:

• Git
• Node.js
• A code editor like Visual Studio Code
• A terminal emulator like iTerm 2 for macOS, Git BASH for Windows, etc.

Test to make sure your software is installed correctly by running a few commands. Assuming the following statements return version numbers instead of throwing errors, everything installed successfully.

Configuring SSH Keys and Git​

In order to push commits to the remote origin from your local machine, you'll need to create a new SSH key and add the key to your account. Set up your global name and email on your machine as well.

Cloning the Repository and Starting the Web Server​

With the previous steps completed, you can now clone the repository to your local machine and start the local web server.

Creating a New Branch​

Instead, create a new branch for a specific purpose (i.e., scottie-power-rankings-week-one) locally and push it to the remote origin.

Creating a New Post​

Use the power rankings CLI to generate new posts. The generated template lists each league member with fantasy football data from Sleeper and their avatars stored on a CDN.

Using Markdown​

The section wrapped in --- is called the slug. It contains metadata for querying posts using GraphQL. ## wraps proceeding text in an <h2> tag. All other text gets wrapped in a <p> tag. Markdown offers many powerful features such as embedding images, creating hyperlinks, and adding syntax highlighting. The site can serve image content as well. You can add an image file to the same directory as the index.md and embed using a local path (i.e., ![Image description](./image.png) in index.md for the directory below).

MDX​

This site is configured to support MDX. MDX adds a new dimension of features in Markdown pages by seamlessly integrating JSX, which allows for writing HTML inside of JavaScript statements.

Committing, Pushing, and Submitting a Pull Request​

Once you've finished writing your content, publishing your changes is automated via CI/CD. First, commit and push to your branch.

Power Rankings CLI Overview​

spr is a CLI tool for generating Markdown pages in the league site for power rankings posts with Sleeper data injected. The source code is hosted on GitHub.

Usage​

Navigate to the root folder of the league's site, and run spr add <WEEK_NUMBER> <AUTHOR_FIRST_NAME>. The alias for add is a. Open the generated index.md file in the newly created directory (<FIRST_NAME>-week-<WEEK_NUMBER>-power-rankings/) to enter the power rankings text for the new post.

Functionality​

• Validates the week number and author first name
• Checks the current Git branch to ensure that the user has created a non-main branch
• Fetches the league members and rosters from the Sleeper API
• Fetches the current avatar for each league member and copies to a CDN hosted in AWS
• Generates Markdown power rankings with the member's latest stats neatly formatted
• Creates a new directory for the post and writes the index.md file

Configuration​

The league-specific details exist in various JavaScript configuration files to maximize reusability. While the CLI is tightly-coupled with Docusaurus, there's still much that can be reconfigured for other leagues.
